What is the Loaned Executive Program?

A Loaned Executive (LE) is an individual selected by the CEO of a business, industry or organization to work directly in the annual United Way Campaign as part of work responsibilities.  For a designated period of time, normally 3 months,  the employee schedules an agreed upon amount of work time for campaign-related assignments.  In most cases, an LE is expected to allow 2-3 hours/week of work time for the United Way during the annual campaign.

The Loaned Executive (LE) program is a unique opportunity for your valued employees to participate in the  Wiregrass United Way's annual campaign as executives on loan. Loaned Executives become members of the UW campaign team working directly with CEOs and company campaign coordinators to plan, conduct, and report workplace campaigns. By design, they LE Program benefits you, your employee, the Wiregrass United Way and the community as a whole.

How does the LE Program benefit your company?
The LE Program is an excellent way for competent men and women to broaden business perspectives and prepare for community leadership Your company will reap these benefits:

  • An employee with enhanced management and public speaking skills and a better understand of the Wiregrass community
  • Increased recognition of your company's concern and commitment to the welfare of our community
  • Strengthened relationships with LEs from other companies
  • Knowledge that you have contributed to the quality of life in the Wiregrass

How does the LE Program benefit your employee?
They will attend a trianing session which includes training in selling UW, time manangement, public speaking and presentation methods, community dynamics and issues, how the United Way system works as well as make on-site visits to several UW Partnering Agencies.

How does the LE Program benefit United Way and the community?
A successful LE  can help shorten the length of the WUW Campaign, improve campaign execution, aide in the timeliness of reporting, increases awareness of WUW throughout the community and provides a pool of knowledgable WUW Volunteers stationed throughout the Wiregrass.

What kind of commitment is this going to be?
The employer must commit to loaning the executive to WUW
for the length of the training session and about 2 hours/week depending on respective accounts.

The Loaned Executive  should attend the training session and begin working on accounts are assigned and training is completed. They should be prepared to report in with WUW Staff and Division Chairs on the status of their accounts and work them until completion.
