Coffee County Family Services Center is now a United Way Agency

The Coffee County Family Services Center is the newest Member Agency of the Wiregrass United Way! The Board of Trustees for the United Way voted unanimously to accept the agency into the list of non-profit organizations who recieve funding through the annual campaign. The mission of the Coffee County Family Services Center is to support and strengthen families by providing a coordinated network to promote self-sufficiency and enhance family stability.

The Center provides the following programs:

Assessment and Referral - Helps families with meeting needs and finding resources. Assists with long and short term planning for family stability. Helps find solutions to family problems. Assists with education and employment referral.
Building Blocks - A program for pregnant teens and new teen mothers of children 0-3 years old. Provides home visits, support groups and referrals so that teens learn all about their babies and how to be their first and best teacher.
Young Parents Program - A program for parents ages 20-25 with children up to 5 years old. Provides home visits, group education and referrals. Helps parents learn about their children and how to cope with the stress of parenting.
Pregnancy Prevention - Educational programs and resources for parents and youth leaders. Educational "Parent Packs" available for parents of children ages 5 through 19. Lending library for parents and youth leaders. Healthy lifestyle resources for teens.
AVON Breast Cancer Crusade - Education and information regarding breast care for all women. Free Pap smear, breast exam and mammogram for low-income women over 50.
Nutrition Education - Programs available to groups and individuals about good nutrition, stretching your food budget and help following special diets.
