Bob Woodall, owner of Bob Woodall Air Care Systems in Dothan has been selected to serve as the overall chairman for the annual Wiregrass United Way campaign. This appointment was announced by Jeff Brannon, the local United Way Board of Trustees chairman.
Woodall brings with him a wealth of experience and involvement in civic and community service. Two years ago he served as the Houston County campaign chairman. He was extremely successful in that role leading the organization to a record amount that year. According to Walter Hill, Chief Executive Officer of the Wiregrass United Way, Woodall has exactly what they look for in a campaign chair. “We are thrilled to have Bob Woodall join us in a leadership role. He has a passion for helping others and is a tremendous spokesman for our mission,” Hill added.
The Wiregrass United Way will officially kick off the campaign on Wednesday, August 1st with the Pacesetter Kickoff meeting. Following that meeting approximately ninety area businesses will conduct their United Way campaign during the month of August. Their results will be announced at the campaign kickoff on Thursday, September 6th.
The Wiregrass United Way has served the area since 1938, currently funding 37 member agencies serving Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties. Funds raised by Wiregrass United Way are utilized locally in the five county area. A committee of local volunteers determines how the funds are distributed among the member agencies.
