The 20th Annual Home Oil Company Charity Golf Classic will be Friday, May 9, 2008. The 4 man scramble will be held at Highland Oaks Golf Course in Dothan. All proceeds benefit the Wiregrass United Way. Teams and sponsors are currently being recruited. Registration and range balls begin at 9:00 a.m., the putting contest and a breakfast buffet will begin at 9:30 a.m. The tournament will begin with an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start.
For companies wanting to enter a team and be a sponsor there is a Golfer’s Friend Package. For a $600 donation to Wiregrass United Way they receive a team of four in the tournament, a hole sign, listing on the event banner along with two mulligans for each golfer on their team, two attempts at the putting contest per golfer and one power drive per golfer.
In addition, any area business who wants to participate in another way can contribute $200. This will entitle them to one hole sign on the course the day of the tournament. The signs are provided by the tournament.
The Wiregrass United Way has served the Wiregrass area since 1938, currently funding 37 member agencies serving Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties. Funds raised by Wiregrass United Way are utilized locally in the five county area. A committee of local volunteers determines how the funds are distributed among the member agencies.
